Shamrock Machinery sells a wide variety of manual machines including lathes, mills, drills, grinders and saws. Important specialty categories include hollow spindle or oil country lathes, turret lathes, horizontal boring mills and vertical boring mills, and a variety of surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, I.D. grinders and bandsaws.
Forty years ago it was very rare to see a foreign made lathe, mill, drill, grinder or saw in the average machine shop. But prices of new machines were high, delivery times were long, and, as a result, many shops bought used machines from much bigger companies. Over time, foreign machine tool builders began to offer less expensive machines for immediate delivery. And today it is difficult to find a new lathe, mill, drill or grinder made in this country.
